PGY1 Resident Pharmacist
Position Summary
This posting is for a post-match American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) Post-Graduate Year One (PGY1) pharmacy residency position. Applicants do not need to have participated in the NMS matching process to be considered for this position. Both 2024 graduates and non-traditional candidates will be considered for this position.
Through successful completion of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) Post-Graduate Year One (PGY1) pharmacy residency program the resident pharmacist will build on their Doctor of Pharmacy education and learning outcomes with the goal of developing into a clinical pharmacist responsible for medication-related care of patients with a wide range of conditions, eligible for board certification, and eligible for postgraduate year two (PGY2) pharmacy residency training. This position fulfills all accreditation requirements for PGY1 residencies as defined by ASHP. The resident pharmacist will be licensed to practice as a pharmacist by the State of Ohio Board of Pharmacy. However, the resident pharmacist will also have additional and unique duties above and beyond those of a staff pharmacist at Licking Memorial Hospital in order to achieve the accreditation requirements set forth by ASHP and fulfill the resident pharmacist’s educational needs.

This posting is for a 12 month commitment (July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2025) to the PGY1 pharmacy residency program, as detailed in the PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Manual. Acceptance into this position does not imply continued employment as a pharmacist by Licking Memorial Health Systems following the successful completion of the PGY1 pharmacy residency program.
