Women’s Health

Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our growing team. Under the direction of the collaborating physicians delivers preventative and primary health and medical care to a women’s health patient population. 

Responsibilities

  • As a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner, you will have the opportunity to build strong relationships with your patients, providing personalized care and education.
  • From routine gynecological exams to family planning counseling, you will play a vital role in promoting women's health and well-being across the lifespan.
  • Perform comprehensive gynecological exams, including pelvic exams and breast exams. Recognizes deviations from normal and develop necessary management and treatment plans in collaboration with physicians as needed.
  • Your responsibilities will include diagnosing and treating common gynecological conditions, conducting clinical examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and prescribing medications as needed. 
  • Obtains medical, family and social histories from patients in collaboration with the Women's Health clinical team.
  • Provides patient education opportunities for individual and/or family utilizing additional resources when necessary.
  • Facilitates patient participation in health care by providing information needed to make decisions and choices about promotion, maintenance and restoration of health and appropriate utilization of health care resources.
  • Participates as an interdisciplinary team member to provide coordinated care with collaborating OB/GYN physicians and with other health care providers and agencies to deliver high-quality, patient centered care.
  • Evaluates effectiveness and efficiency of care and participates in quality improvement activities as a team member to improve the value of care provided.
  • Understands and provides leadership in the quality and utilization management processes and ancillary staff.
  • Pursues professional growth through participation in continuing education programs, reading professional literature, and sharing experiences with colleagues. 
  • Responsible for ensuring the personal performance reflects the Mission, Vision, Standards of Behavior and the Service Goals.

Requirements

  • Women’s Health experience preferred.
  • Graduate of accredited Master of Nursing program, maintains current licensure and Board certification in the State of Ohio
  • Certified as a nurse practitioner by a nationally recognized certifying organization.
  • Functions within the scope of practice of nursing for nurse practitioners as defined by the Advanced Nurse Practice Act.
  • Demonstrates clinical skill, knowledge and judgments necessary to provide care within the scope of practice of the nurse practitioner as defined by the Advanced Nurse Practice Act.
  • Demonstrates ability to provide care for Women’s Health patient population under direction of the collaborating OB/GYN physicians.
  • Demonstrates high-level communication skills enabling effective relationships with patients, families and health care personnel of various disciplines.
  • Demonstrates insight into improving the health of patient populations and our community.
  • Maintains clinical excellence through continuing education.
  • Demonstrates ability to efficiently use computer system, EPIC.
  • Efficiently participates in case of emergency (code blue, fire, weather, disaster)
  • Maintains BLS
