A Crew: Monday – Thursday 6:00am – 4:30 pm (daily OT possible)
B Crew: Tuesday – Friday 6:00pm – 4:30am (daily OT possible)
C Crew: Friday -Saturday from 6:00am – 4:30 pm and Sunday-Monday from Friday 6:00pm – 4:30am (daily OT possible)
Education/Certification/Licensure: Powered Industrial Truck Permit (requires a passing score on the Powered Industrial Truck training tests administered by LM Manufacturing).
Job Summary
Forklift Operators are responsible for the movement and storage of production parts within the plant; and ensures production line has the correct parts for production in a timely manner.. Production Team Associates cycle through an established rotation of tasks within a workday. Other functions include but are not limited to seat teardown, seat repair, and minor equipment maintenance and adjustments. Employees must be able to work overtime and weekends, as needed.
Key Responsibilities of Forklift Operators
Moves parts on the plant floor and in the shipping/receiving area through the operation of a forklift truck.
Supplies parts to assembly stations and sequencing lanes in a timely manner.
Loads and unloads parts from trucks.
Maintains stock in an organized fashion (FIFO).
Assists with monthly physical inventories and daily cycle counts.
Initiates, recommends or provides solutions through appropriate channels; participates in Kaizen/MPS activities.
Works in a manner that promotes teamwork among fellow employees.
Completes all paperwork associated with the job assignment in an accurate and timely manner.
Displays a positive attitude towards safety, works safely and follows all the Company's safety policies and procedures.
Reports all unsafe and unhealthy conditions or acts to management immediately.
Reports injuries, accidents, illnesses, near misses and property damage immediately to your Supervisor.
Complies with all Health, Safety and Environmental standards in accordance with the LM Manufacturing Employee Charter, the Occupational Health & Safety Act. and the Michigan Occupational Health & Safety Act.
If there is reason to believe that any equipment, or physical condition of the workplace is likely to endanger the employee or co-worker, or is in contravention of OSHA and MISOHA, notify management immediately.
If there is any reason to believe that any equipment, physical condition of the workplace or assigned task is likely to jeopardize customer’s requirements, internal requirements or the quality of tests results and/or equipment build, notify management immediately.
