Position Statement

The Digital Marketing Coordinator at Explore Brighton Howell Area executes the social media and digital marketing strategies and assists the team with updating partner website listings, creating content, contacting local tourism-related businesses for photos and related content, seek user generated content (UGC), updating event listings, social media management, and other marketing efforts.

Responsibilities

Social Media Coordination (65%)

  • Develop and execute organic social media campaigns and content across numerous EBHA channels by producing content designed for optimal engagement and a positive organizational brand
  • Schedule content in advance and supplement with real time posts
  • Interact with users and respond to social media messages, inquiries, and comments using good judgment and following Explore Brighton Howell Area social media policies
  • Visit attractions, sports facilities, events, and other locations to collect photographs and video
  • Assist the Marketing Director as needed with leisure influencers and bloggers to reach digital marketing goals
  • Work with Marketing Director to analyze digital performance and make recommendations to improve the effectiveness of social strategies
  • Monitor dashboards to understand performance and opportunities to drive further visitation
  • Monitor competing and aspirational channels for trends and ideas
  • Find and share User-Generated Content via SnapSea platform to utilize on the Explore Brighton Howell Area website and other outlets

Communications (30%)

  • Write and edit optimized blog content to inform readers and increase website performance
  • Coordinate with local businesses, attractions, and event organizers for promotion
  • Find and write content for local events to promote visitation for the explorebrightonhowellarea.com website
  • Create relationships with local partners to curate marketing content
  • Manage various web pages on the explorebrightonhowellarea.com website through WordPress

Additional Responsibilities (5%)

  • Participate in staff and project meetings
  • Participate in Explore Brighton Howell Area sponsored functions and activities as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Education & Experience:

  • ·Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, or related field preferred, but will consider all candidates with relevant work experience and a proven record of performance
  • Recent experience in social media management, including content creation, scheduling, and analytics preferred

Requirements:

  • Exceptional writing written and verbal communication skills
  • Creative and critical thinking skills
  • Able to manage situations with poise and professionalism
  • Understanding of digital media, social media, and web strategies
  • Ability to problem solve and excel in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Livingston County resident or knowledge of the area and its attractions
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to drive own car

Physical and Environmental Requirements

  • Requires physical activity for extended periods of time such as computer work/keyboard typing, telephone use, bending, reaching, twisting, sitting, and standing
  • Requires occasional lifting, pushing, and pulling of objects over 25 pounds

Explore Brighton Howell Area offers a hybrid work environment with a primarily 9 a.m.- 5 p.m., Monday-Friday schedule. Due to the nature of tourism, evening and weekend work may be required at times, but not consistently or frequently.
