Living Word/Maranatha Christian Academy is Hiring a K-8 Innovation (STEM) Teacher Near Brooklyn, MN

Maranatha Christian Academy (MCA) is a private school serving Grades Pre-kindergarten through 12 in Brooklyn Park, MN. We are an influential school of collaborators, innovators, and explorers grounded in Christian faith, empowering co-creators of tomorrow. MCA has an opening for an elementary innovation teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. The innovation teacher should have a propensity for technology and a desire to teach intro to robotics, engineering, coding, and cublets at the elementary level. An individual must be able to perform each essential duty and competency satisfactorily to perform this job successfully. Reasonable accommodations may be made to perform the essential functions.

Essential Duties

  • Professes Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior; models a consistent, daily walk with Jesus Christ in attitude, speech, and actions
  • Follow the Matthew 18 principle in dealing with students, parents, staff, and administration.
  • Prepares course objectives and outline for course of study following curriculum guidelines or requirements/standards of state and school and submits weekly to principal
  • Lectures, demonstrates, and uses audiovisual technology teaching aids to present subject matter to class.
  • Prepares, administers, and corrects tests, and records results.
  • Assigns lessons, homework, corrects papers, and hears oral presentations
  • Teaches rules of conduct
  • Maintains order in classroom and in auxiliary spaces on campus as well as off-site school-sponsored activities
  • Counsels students when academic and/or behavioral problems arise
  • Discusses students' academic and behavioral attitudes and achievements with parents
  • Keeps attendance and grade records as required by the school.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university in Education

Desired License: Minnesota state teaching license in K-5 or 8 Education
