Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Material Handler to join our team. As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently handling and moving materials from our distributor to our jobsites, and vice versa. This is a vital role in our operations, ensuring that materials are properly stored, organized, and distributed to meet production needs. As part of your job, you will be responsible for delivering our dump trailers to and from our jobsites to local landfills and back to jobsites.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate various types of vehicle from diesel trucks to cargo vans
- Load and unload materials from trucks or containers using appropriate equipment
- Move materials to designated storage areas within the warehouse or jobsites
- Ensure accurate inventory management by conducting regular cycle counts and reconciling discrepancies
- Prepare materials for shipment by packaging, labeling, and staging them accordingly
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations, including OSHA standards
- Collaborate with team members to optimize workflow and meet production targets
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience as a Material Handler/Driver or in a similar role recommended
- Proficiency in operating various types of warehouse equipment such as traler pulling, backing into tight spaces
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling materials and trailer pulling
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks as required
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members
- Ability to walk jobsite with client and ensure a clean property once team has completed work
