THE BASICS | Primary Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities for the Product Specialist

We are looking for a strong candidate to join our team as a Product Specialist. In this role, you will be tasked with handling a variety of unique challenges and duties – most importantly, to expand the product and industry knowledge of both internal and external customers by serving as the company’s subject matter expert. The Product Specialist will help to increase market share by conducting trainings, analyzing market trends, directing and supporting collaborative sales, service and inventory control efforts, developing sales, price and profitability strategies and identifying opportunities.

BASIC DUTIES

• Support the success of all Live Oak team members, especially salespeople, by creating and implementing a consistent training program that ensures we are all industry experts.
• Troubleshoot technical issues related to products and their use and support the team in providing solutions.
• Analyze competitive marketplace and industry trends to develop business strategies for revenue generation.
• Perform product demonstrations and trainings for internal and external customers and provide feedback.
• Stay abreast of the latest trends and innovative products to help bring new products to market or expand our offering.
• Serve as a consultant to all managers regarding product and industry specific matters.

BASIC SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, and ABILITIES

• Knowledge of the concrete construction industry.
• Strong customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively in English, being bi-lingual in Spanish is a benefit!
• Self-motivated with organizational skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities and handle customer inquiries.
• Proficient with ERP and CRM software as well as Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, Outlook, and OneDrive
• Must be an outgoing individual who is comfortable meeting new people and being in unfamiliar situations.
• Skill sets such as active listening, critical thinking, time management, people management, judgement, and decision-making, as well as social awareness, coaching, and teaching are crucial for success.
