Youth Ministry Director

Littleton United Methodist Church (Littleton, CO) is seeking a passionate Youth Director to lead the youth program. Applicants should have 2-3 years of experience in large church youth programs (as staff or volunteer) or similar Christian youth organization experience, be high energy, and have good communication and organizational skills. Most of all, the candidate must have a passion for working with youth in a church setting.LUMC's youth program (middle and high school students) schedule includes weekly fellowship activities, Sunday School, and other activities. The LUMC youth also have a tradition of service to others through yearly mission trips and other activities.A United Methodist background is preferred, but other Christian church denominations will be considered. The position is full-time but would consider flexible part-time with some reduced responsibilities. One requirement of the job, full or part time, is to be available to work on Sundays.Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Director to join our team. As the Youth Director, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating various programs and activities for youth in our organization. Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging programs and activities for youth, including Bible studies, retreats, community service projects, and social events
- Provide leadership and guidance to youth volunteers and mentors
- Foster a safe and inclusive environment for all youth participants
- Offer Christian counseling and support to youth facing challenges or difficult situations
- Organize and facilitate bereavement support groups for youth experiencing loss
- Collaborate with other staff members to plan and execute special events, such as summer camps or mission trips
- Assist with fundraising efforts to support youth programs
- Maintain open communication with parents/guardians regarding program updates, events, and any concerns related to their children's participation

Experience:
- Previous experience working with children or youth in a leadership role
- Strong understanding of social work principles and practices
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to mentor and guide young people in their spiritual journey
- Experience in event planning and coordination
- Knowledge of Christian counseling techniques is preferred
- Familiarity with fundraising strategies is a plus
