Little Sisters of The Poor, Chicago is Hiring a Staff Development Coordinator/Infection Control Nurse Near Chicago, IL

The Little Sisters of the Poor is seeking a Staff Development Coordinator that can assist in assuring appropriate staff knowledge and competencies for the provision of compassionate, high-quality care and service to the elderly poor who are served at St. Mary’s Home. This individual coordinates overall orientation and ongoing staff education, and helps to assure performance outcomes that are consistent with the spirit, mission, and core values of the Little Sisters of the Poor, as well as with current healthcare standards and all state, federal, and local regulations. The Staff Development Coordinator also serves as the Home’s Infection Control Nurse.

Requirements:

  • Must have an active RN license in the State of Illinois;
  • Must have training or experience in areas such as nursing administration/supervision, rehabilitation nursing, psychiatric or geriatric nursing;
  • Must have, or obtain, additional specialized training in infection prevention and control;
  • Must be proficient in spoken and written English, and must have strong communication and documentation skills, including public speaking and teaching skills;
  • Must possess the leadership qualities of self-reliance, creativity, integrity, initiative, good judgment, and dependability;
  • Must possess an ability to work congenially with others, demonstrating a spirit of respect, cooperation, and flexibility;
  • Must possess an ability to evaluate the learning needs of both professional and nonprofessional staff and to adapt instructional programs so as to enhance their professional and technical competency, generating an enthusiasm for learning among the Home’s staff.
