St Augustine Home for the Aged – Indianapolis, IN
Caring for the elderly poor for more than 150 years!
We are looking for a Life Enrichment Director who is ready to coordinate an upbeat and relevant calendar of activities to enhance the lives of the Residents at St Augustine Home. The Life Enrichment Director will do so by partnering with the Volunteer Coordinator to utilize our dedicated group of volunteers who are routinely engaged in the activities of the Home. 
The Life Enrichment Director will carry out duties in keeping with the mission of Little Sisters of the Poor, namely the caring for the aged poor with love, respect and dignity. “Making the elderly happy, that is what counts” was a saying of the Little Sisters of the Poor foundress Saint Jeanne Jugan. Central to this philosophy is the promotion of a holistic approach for our Residents in an atmosphere of kindness and respect in creating a family spirit.

Qualifications
  • Must have completed a 90-hour Activity Director Course as required by the Indiana State Department of Health 
  • Knowledge, experience, and skills in recreational programs such as: arts, crafts, music, re-motivation techniques or reality orientation.
  • A valid Driver’s License and have a good driving record.
  • Ability to plan and execute an activities program designed to meet the individual and collective needs of geriatric Residents at all levels of care.
  • Leadership abilities, self -reliance, integrity, initiative, dependability, and good judgment.
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge.

Retirement: You will receive a monthly contribution to your Pension at a rate of 4.11% of your salary! Enrollment is automatic after you have been employed for one year and you will be fully vested after only five years in the plan. You are also eligible to begin making contributions to your retirement plan immediately upon employment!
