Little Saints Preschool Program is Hiring an Early Childhood Teacher Near Concord, CA

Little Saints Preschool Program educates 2 & 3 year old children with a play-based emergent curriculum. We are seeking quality educators with 2 to 5 years of experience in early childhood classrooms. Class hours are Monday-Friday, 8am-3pm and a full-time teacher is needed from 7:45am-3:15pm. We use an Emergent Curriculum process and monitor children’s progress alongside the California Preschool Learning Foundations and Curriculum Frameworks. Our preschool program is licensed by California Department of Social Services: Community Care Licensing, and we hold a 4-star rating from Quality Counts California. Little Saints is a part of Queen of All Saints School which serves students up to 8th grade. Our school is proud to serve families of diverse cultural, financial, and social backgrounds, spreading our Catholic values throughout the community of Concord and beyond. We are an entity of Lumen Christi Academies and Catholic Schools Diocese of Oakland.

Expected Duties:

  • Care of children between 2 to 5 years old (about 1-8 adult to child ratios)
  • Plan & implement developmentally appropriate curriculum.
  • Evaluate & document student development.
  • Complete 16 hours of continuing education annually.

Qualifications:

  • 2 to 5 years of experience in early childhood classroom preferred
  • A Child Development Permit or degree in ECE or related field preferred
  • Physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs, stand for extended periods, squat & bend frequently.
  • Candidate MUST have a minimum of 12 ECE units covering the following course topics:
  • Child Human Growth and Development
  • Child, Family, and Community
  • Program / Curriculum Development
  • Miscellaneous Early Childhood Course (prefer Infant/Toddler Care course)
