Little Legends Learning Center, Inc in Champaign, IL is looking to hire a full-time Lead Infant Teacher to care for adorable babies aged 6 weeks to 15 months. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A LEAD INFANT TEACHER

As a Lead Infant Teacher, you foster the growth and development of the sweet babies in our care. In this role, you provide what is often the first childcare experience for new parents. You develop positive, trusting bonds with them, so you can ease their fears and make them feel comfortable leaving us with their child. Every week, you develop age-appropriate lesson plans and activities that keep our babies engaged and happy.

Alongside your assistant teachers, you play with the infants and take care of basic needs like feeding and changing diapers. You follow each infant's individual schedule, so every baby has their needs appropriately met. When babies start crying, you calmly tend to them and ease their discomfort. You maintain accurate portfolios for each child, keeping track of their progress and daily activities. You feel great about caring for and teaching the cuties of the next generation!

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A LEAD INFANT TEACHER

The ideal candidate will meet one or more of the following educational requirements:

  • Associate degree in early childhood education (ECE)
  • Associate degree with 6 hours specifically in child development (CD)/ECE from ages birth - six
  • High school diploma plus 1 year of experience working in a preschool, kindergarten, or licensed daycare and 30 hours of college credit with 6 of those in courses related to CD/ECE from ages birth - six
  • High school diploma and Child Development certification

WORK SCHEDULE FOR A LEAD INFANT TEACHER

This daycare position typically works 8-hour shifts, Monday - Friday. The shift start time varies based on room needs, but business hours are 6:30 AM - 5:45 PM.
