Duties
  1. Support Lead Teachers: Collaborate with Lead Teachers during lessons, activities, and classroom management, offering additional assistance to ensure a nurturing and educational environment for children.
  2. Supervision and Engagement: Ensure the safety and well-being of children by supervising them during activities, playtime, meals, and rest periods, actively engaging with them to foster their development.
  3. Adaptability: Be flexible in working with diverse age groups and in various classrooms as needed, providing support wherever necessary to meet the evolving needs of the center.
  4. Curriculum Implementation: Help implement age-appropriate educational programs and activities that promote cognitive, social, and emotional growth, aligning with the center's curriculum goals.
  5. Daily Care Duties: Support children with daily care tasks such as diapering, restroom use, handwashing, and mealtime, ensuring prompt assistance and maintaining hygiene standards.
  6. Break Supervision: Organize and supervise breaks for teachers, ensuring a positive and respectful mealtime experience that fosters a supportive atmosphere.
  7. Classroom Organization: Aid in setting up and organizing the classroom, including arranging materials and resources for daily activities to facilitate a conducive learning environment.
  8. Effective Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with parents, regularly updating their child's progress, daily activities, and mealtime habits, fostering a collaborative relationship.
  9. Positive Role Modeling: Lead by example as a positive role model for children, demonstrating kindness, patience, and respect in all interactions to promote a nurturing and supportive atmosphere.
Requirements
  1. Flexibility: Be adaptable and willing to work varied shifts, including opening or closing as needed, between the hours of 6 a.m. and 7 p.m., Monday through Friday.
  2. Minimum Age: Candidates must be at least 18 years old.
  3. Background Clearance: Successfully pass various background checks, including those conducted through Bright from the Start.
  4. CPR & First Aid Certification: Hold current CPR & First Aid certification or be willing to obtain certification upon hiring.
  5. Strong Work Ethic: Demonstrate a strong work ethic, punctuality, and minimal absences to ensure reliable attendance.
  6. Understanding of Child Development: Understanding young children's unique needs and appropriate expectations.
  7. Physical Requirements: Be capable of kneeling, bending, squatting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying children weighing up to 70 lbs.
  8. Reliable Transportation: Have dependable transportation to and from work.
  9. Education: Hold a High School Diploma or equivalent (a Child Development Associate (CDA) or relevant coursework is a plus).
  10. Childcare Experience: Previous experience working in childcare is preferred but not required.
  11. Interpersonal Skills: Exhibit strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with children, parents, and colleagues effectively.
  12. Passion for Child Development: Display a genuine passion for working with children and contributing to their growth and development.
  13. Adaptability: Adapting to different age groups and classroom environments as needed.
  14. Punctuality and Reliability: Maintain punctuality and reliability as essential qualities in fulfilling the role's responsibilities.

  1. Childcare Industry Experience: Previous experience in the childcare industry is highly valued.
  2. Additional Certifications: Possession of additional relevant certifications or coursework in early childhood education is advantageous.
