Summary Job Description:

The Socio Therapist Supervisor is responsible for the oversight and supervision of all clinical practices and procedures related to an individual’s plan of care in accordance with EFFC’s regulations and Little Flower’s policies and procedures. The Socio Therapist Supervisor provides both clinical and administrative supervision to Socio Therapist staff members in assigned programs and responsible for conducting performance evaluations. The Socio Therapist Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that all Enhanced Family Foster Care Socio Therapists provide clinical services that are both qualitative and compliant with all EEFC regulations. Part of the Socio Therapist Supervisor’s role includes communicating with and advocating on behalf of the individuals/agency to doctors, practitioners, clinicians, family members, etc., in the community towards diagnosing conditions, developing plans of care, and evaluating responses. The Socio Therapist Supervisor is essential in working with Little Flower’s administrative team to develop and implement effective and collaborative policies and procedures and quality of care.

Principle Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical and administrative supervision and leadership to department’s Socio Therapist staff.
  • Actively participate and present at Mental Health (MHS) meetings, Family Planning (FTC) meetings, staff meetings, Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) meetings and other forums as requested by supervisor.
  • Advocate to and interact with psychiatric, psychotherapy and psycho-sexual services when necessary.
  • Conduct internal audits and submit it to the supervisor.
  • Obtain required consents from families for medical treatment (including medication), behavior modification plans, restrictive equipment.
  • Conduct internal audits of clinical policies, procedures, and systems to ensure regulatory compliance as per EEFC and all Little Flower policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Assist with clinical policy development.
  • Consult with doctors, clinicians, etc. to ensure optimal clinical treatments are provided to people being supported.
  • Work closely with each team to plan best course of treatment for maximum clinical health of people being supported
  • Ensure completion of Functional Behavioral Assessments and development of individualized behavior support plans and staff interventions as per EEFC regulations
  • Implements and monitors effective behavioral data tracking systems
  • Completes behavior health related plans and additional documents as needed.
  • Provides training to staff on behavior treatment plans, and on topics/plans related to behavioral health
  • Completes assessment and Psychological Evaluations as needed
  • Engages individuals in individual and/or group treatment as needed
  • Coordinates psychological care and behavioral programs with families, medical providers, or other relevant stakeholders in the individual’s service provision.
  • Provides crisis intervention, as well as instructs staff in appropriate techniques for addressing challenging behaviors
  • Attends interdisciplinary team meetings, as appropriate, providing input particularly on individuals with identified or emerging behavioral challenges.
  • Conducts other related tasks as needed or required
  • Conduct monthly staff meetings and attend all meetings, committee/specialty, and provide feedback to staff.
  • Ensure health, safety & welfare of individuals
  • Travel to throughout NYC is required.

Special Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree is required and in a related field preferred.
  • 1-3 years of management experience preferred
  • 1-3 years of working with the foster care population experience preferred.
  • Maintains a cooperative relationship among teams by communicating information, responding to requests, building rapport & participating in team problem-solving methods.
  • In-depth knowledge of Foster Care services, regulations and best practices required
  • Excellent communication, verbal, written and people skills are required

Travel Requirements:

This position is located in Brooklyn with travel to other locations.

Salary will commensurate with experience and education
