Little Explorers Infant Teachers & Caregivers
What separates a good school from a great school? Great Teachers! Come join the Little Explorers Family as one of our amazing Infant Teachers, working 9am-6pm (with an hour break)
Qualifications:
  • A love for children and a strong desire to make a difference every day
  • Be of good character and reputation
  • Be in sufficient physical, mental and emotional health to perform job duties satisfactorily
  • Possess skills, attributes, and characteristics conducive to and suitable for working with young children
  • 18 years of age or older with high school diploma or equivalent
  • Obtain clearance through required background checks - Child Abuse Record Information background check and Criminal History Record Information background check - within two weeks of hire
  • CPR / First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain
  • Able to speak, read, and write fluently in English
  • Ability to meet physical requirements of the position, including the ability to kneel, stoop, sit on the floor, stand for a long time, work indoors and outdoors, and demonstrate and engage in activities like jumping, dancing, walking, running, and lifting at least 40 pounds
Job Responsibilities & Requirements:
  • Must LOVE babies
  • Ensure the health & safety of all children at all times
  • MUST possess a genuine desire to give hugs, wipe boogers, comfort crying kiddos, dance around to silly songs, color & draw, have conversations with cooing and/or babbling babies, and create magical memories!
  • Implementation of developmentally appropriate curriculum across all domains of early learning
  • Plan out daily activities and submit completed lesson plans to the office
  • A strong stomach… for the yucky stuff... mostly boogers & smells… And the ability to identify immediately who or what a smell is coming from is a MAJOR BONUS and will save lots of time and energy in the long run. (With this you will also develop a high level of comfort talking about bodily functions. No worries - this is totally normal!)
  • The ability to not take yourself too seriously - in order to engage multitudes of babies at the same time, one must be willing to look ridiculous from time to time
  • Able to identify and remember the names of, not just your kids and other kids in the building, but also parents, grandparents, pets, blankies, coats, socks, hair bows, and any other item that has ever walked in your classroom
  • Engage and interact with the children throughout the day to provide a well rounded and developmentally appropriate early learning experience to all children in the classroom
  • Supervise children at all times, making sure each child is receiving adequate care and making progress in learning
  • Update Brightwheel to keep parents informed of what their child is doing throughout the day
  • Communicate regularly, honestly, and productively with parents
  • Maintain records of children’s attendance and supervision throughout the day (*Brightwheel Name-to-Face)
  • Change those booties every two hours or more frequently if needed
  • Ability to recognize infant cues and meet babies’ emotional and physical needs
  • Maintain each child’s individual schedule for feedings, naps, and diaper changes
  • Recognize infant developmental milestones and work toward progress in each area
  • Complete developmental assessments tri-annually and discuss child progress with parents
  • Maintain at minimum a 90% attendance rating for each quarter
  • Help maintain a safe and clean facility
  • Work as part of a cohesive team, offering guidance and training for your areas of strength and accepting guidance and training from management and peers - be willing to learn and grow
  • Able to adjust schedules accordingly to adapt to the changing needs of the center
  • Create and maintain a classroom environment that allows for children to be safe, happy, and healthy
  • Happy to spend lots of time outdoors
  • Prepared to laugh, love, and learn more about children - and yourself - than you ever have before.
This is by far one of the most joyous and rewarding places to work, but you must be prepared to accept the challenges along with benefits this job has to offer. Yes, you will have many days where you go home utterly exhausted, but you can’t wait to go the next day and try that amazing Pinterest project you found about teaching the alphabet through superheroes, because of course superheroes are all the rage in your class.
Little Explorers is an independently owned and operated center and definitely growing company, so with passion and drive the sky's the limit!
Strongly Preferred:
  • Relevant College Level Coursework / Degree
  • Teacher Certification and/or CDA
  • Relevant Experience
