Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Child Care Director to oversee our school age child care program. The Child Care Director will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations, ensuring the safety and well-being of all children, and providing a nurturing and educational environment.

Qualifications:

• Meets School Age Child Care Director licensing requirements per NYS Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS):

- Two years of direct experience working with children less than 13 years of age, including at least one year in a supervisory capacity in a child care program or related field of work AND

-Associate’s Degree in a child care/development related field OR

-A New York State Children’s Program Administrator Credential OR

-A School-Age Child Care Credential or another office-recognized credential specific to the school-age developmental period OR

-Two years of college with 18 credits in Child Development, Elementary Education, Physical Education, Recreation or a related field

• Background check, including fingerprinting, references, SEL & SCR through NYS Office of Children and Family Services
• You've got the green light from your doctor - medically fit to rock all the job duties and free of any communicable diseases including TB
• Professional, reliable, and prompt
• Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships, and to communicate effectively

Responsibilities:

• Guiding Compliance: Ensure that both staff and program adhere to OCFS guidelines as well as Little Critters Childcare policies
• Bringing the Fun: Direct engaging hands-on activities covering fitness, STEAM, arts, and more!
• Plus, don't forget about homework completion – you'll be the ultimate homework helper!
• Managing Like a Boss: Take charge of essential management tasks, including maintaining accurate attendance records, and ensuring proper staffing levels to keep the program running smoothly
• Keeping Everyone in the Loop: Maintain open lines of communication with parents and family members through the Brightwheel App
• Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively and regularly with other staff, ensuring they're up to speed on daily occurrences and addressing any issues that arise in a timely manner

Pay and Schedule:

• $28-$30 per hour
• Part time/Split shift. The program will be open from 6:30AM-8:45AM and 3:15PM-5:30PM
• Summers and school breaks off
