Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or higher in Education, Child Development, Psychology, Sociology, Social Work or related Human Service field AND minimum or two years' experience in a position involving knowledge of youth and human service community agencies AND direct experience with children and at-risk populations required. Reliable transportation and valid New York State Driver's License required. Experience with Microsoft computer applications and ability to communicate with the manage electronic mail software program required. OCFS clearance required with fingerprint and background approval under LAWS of New York 2001, CHAPTER 180 and its subsequent amendments.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in an educational setting and classroom management preferred. Previous work experience with demonstrated communication skills in electronic format and verbal. Knowledge of the social service system and agency-based responses available for student/youth intervention services,

Reports to: Afterschool Program Site Director

Job Purpose: To be responsible for providing assistance to the After School Program Site Director in implementing after-school program for students. Assisting in planning and implementing academic clubs, field trips, and maintaining student and staff ratios. Promoting the agency's activities and goals by serving as an active member of the Literacy West team by supporting and sustaining all Literacy West Operations.

Responsibilities:

• Assists with daily programmatic operations to ensure youth receive the highest quality educational and support services in a safe environment
• Promotes quality programming by maintaining student to staff ratios

• Assists in maintaining detailed attendance and all other documentation necessary for reporting
• Assists with program development by recommending and providing on going program improvements to ensure a positive program result for all participants
• Maintains a strong culture of accountability of standards, best practices, and outcomes, to recruit, retain, monitor, and support our students, parents, staff, partners and Literacy West leadership.

• Manages multiple priorities and deadlines effectively
• Participates in agency-wide functions and project activities
• Demonstrates integrity and acts as a role model for staff, students, children, and families
• Actively serves as a member of the team

• Provides recommendations and feedback to leadership on program changes, improvements and new development project
• Ensure OCFS compliance and required staff ratios
• Performs other duties as assigned
