SUMMER WORK ONLY
Effective: Seasonal: June to August 2024: Monday - Friday
Hours: 7:00 am - 3:30 pm
Rates of Pay: $17.00/hr.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Cleans assigned building areas (classrooms, hallways, bathrooms, etc.) and empties trash as needed
• Pick-up litter and debris on school grounds
• Moves furniture and equipment as directed
• Assists with set-ups and tear-downs
• Reports any damage to school property to head custodian
• Assists head custodian as needed

EQUIPMENT: Uses hand tools of trade and related power equipment
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Knowledge of fundamental tools, materials, practices, methods and procedures in janitorial services
• Ability to follow oral or written work orders from supervisor, and to coordinate work with others
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work
• Ability to problem-solve job-related issues

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:

• Follows all applicable safety rules, procedures and regulations governing the proper use of tools and power equipment used

• Complies with all laws and procedures related to use of chemicals and hazardous materials
• Wears appropriate safety gear

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

• Occasional travel between schools, or between schools and central office

PHYSICAL, MENTAL DEMANDS AND WORK HAZARDS:

• Ability to withstand heights and work in tight spaces
• Typical risks associated with using tools of the trade
• Occasional strenuous physical work
