Overview:
Logistics Carrier Specialist / Dispatcher at this location is a position requiring a highly motivated individual that excels in a team environment, but wants to succeed as an individual. Logistics Carrier Specialist / Dispatcher responsible to develop, build, and maintain carrier relationships to support the movement of customer freight. In addition, this individual will book loads both on contract and spot basis to help grow revenue for self and team. This position will require dispatch and carrier coverage for other brokers at the beginning of the role. Opportunity available to grow into customer sales/broker role over time.

Responsibilities:

• Negotiation, coordination, management, and tracking of shipments via refrigerated trailers, dry vans, flatbeds, intermodal including use of Internet Truckstop, DAT, MS CRM, and other software platforms
• Communicate with and maintenance of positive relationship with suppliers, carriers, and customers to provide updates on shipments and to address any issues that may arise on shipment to include creation and review of documentation of loads in a timely manner
• Communicate with and maintain positive relationship with supervisors and co-workers
• Data entry of transportation management system in timely manner
• Serve as resource to troubleshoot and problem solve to maintain and grow business
• Setup and maintain operational standard operational procedures for all customer accounts, along with support day to day operations including shift coverages and absence times
• Actively monitor and work with accounting team to ensure accounts receivable and payables for all loads are settled within net terms agreements
• Support other Logistics Sales Brokers in covering customer freight on daily basis and when out on PTO/Vacation
• Other duties may be assigned

Minimum Requirements:

• Strong knowledge and solid experience of Freight Brokerage Operations and Regulations
• 1 years of experience in freight forwarding / logistics / transportation industry.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, along with effective oral and written communication skills in English
• Proficient in time management and organizational skills to handle multiple tasks at a time
• Reliable, energetic, and willing to learn each day to improve as an individual within the team
• There will be rotational weekend/after-hours support needed

Preferences:

• Diploma/Degree in Business, Logistics or a related field; preferred
• Bi-lingual (fluency -languages other than English); preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $43,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
