Lions Gate is Hiring a Nursing Supervisor Every Other Weekend 8pm to 8am Near Voorhees, NJ

Job Description

The RN Nursing Supervisor supports the delivery of efficient and effective nursing care while achieving positive clinical outcomes and patient/family and employee satisfaction during a designated shift.

The RN Supervisor serves as a clinical operational liaison between the units and the DON and Unit Managers. He/she is responsible for the clinical operations of the Nursing Units including ensuring compliance with Lions Gate policies and procedures, practice standards, and regulations. Additionally, he/she is responsible for facilitating the implementation of the care delivery model and processes, mentoring staff, coordinating and communicating with other departments, and ensuring patient and family satisfaction. This position works every other weekend, 8:00pm - 8:00am. 

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with the DON in maintaining adequate nursing coverage to provide safe nursing care for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and effectively utilizes existing manpower limiting use of overtime and agency personnel
  • Works with the DON to effectively plan, organize, direct, and implement a comprehensive center-wide nursing program
  • Ensures patient care assignments are consistent with staff competencies, scope of practice, and the needs of the patients
  • Completes rounds on the units to observe patients and to determine if nursing needs are being met and provides patient care when required
  • Monitors nursing care to ensure positive clinical outcomes and minimize rehospitalizations
  • Ensures Point Click Care (PCC) is utilized according to the Business Processes
  • Encourages shift-to-shift communications between incoming and outgoing nursing staff and participates in shift-to-shift communications with outgoing Supervisor/Unit Manager
  • Reviews prospective admissions in relation to existing nursing capabilities and ensures readiness to treat
  • Contacts attending physicians to obtain orders as indicated (i.e., admission, change in condition, etc.) and ensures that Physician Orders are followed as prescribed
  • Answers any/all emergencies throughout the shift (i.e., change of condition, starting IVs, pronouncement of death, etc.)
  • Assesses the work performance of nursing staff as it relates to their job description, unit standards of care, and goals of the individual
  • Ensures timely and accurate reporting and responses to compliance-related issues and monitors the implementation of corrective action plans related to such issues
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Nursing at a minimum; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Current state license as a Registered Nurse
  • Two years of full time or equivalent clinical experience is required, including clinical experience in long term care nursing; one year in a management/administrative or supervisory capacity is preferred
  • Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications
  • Knowledge of state and local regulations regarding long term care
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and problem solving skills, including the ability to maintain composure under stress
  • Strong organization skills, able to multi-task, and can manage time to meet frequently changing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient computer and internet skills
  • Able to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects as needed
