Lion Recovery is Hiring a Detox Technician Near Van Nuys, CA

We are looking for a capable and friendly Detox Technician to support our growing team while providing opportunity for growth within the company. In this role, your duties will include assisting with patient intake, aid residents with substance abuse treatment, and maintaining patient records. You may also be required to help keep the facility and equipment organized and clean. This is an entry-level role that will help our team in maintaining a safe environment for our residents struggling with the disease of addiction while providing the upmost care. 

To ensure success as a Detox Technician, you should possess knowledge of substance abuse and ideally have experience in a similar role. A top-notch rehab technician will be a team player and someone with exceptional interpersonal skills.

Job Title: Resident Advisor

Reports to: Program Director and Assistant Program Director 

Qualifications:A: Must have no outstanding warrants, and the ability to pass a background screening.B: Must be physically and mentally able to assist in an emergency; This is verified by passing a history and physical.C: Must have a current TB screen, Health Screening, CPR First Aid Certificate.

D: Must have a current RADT or willingness to attain one by start date.
E: Must pass drug screening.F: General knowledge of housekeeping duties.Duties and Responsibilities:A: Resident Care• Maintain awareness of resident safety at all times.• Remind residents to come to meals and take medication.• Make sure medication closet is closed at all times.• Keep accurate records while monitoring resident’s medication intake (i.e., medication administration record and medication log must be accurate)• Assist with medication refills• Medication recount audits• Assist with urine analysis drug screening and or Breathalyzer, when directed.• Record vital signs, height and weight, as directed.• Observe residents during medication intake (Watch for palming, pocketing and checking) • Assists with food preparation and monitors meals• Pass out beverages or nourishment as directed.• Assist with treatments as directed.• Gives appropriate feedback regarding the condition of residents to the Program Director. • Assures basic comfort measures are maintained.• Admits, transfers, and discharges residents as assigned: a) Pack belongings, strip bed and wash linens when necessary. b) Inventory personal belongings. c) Document Procedures• Responsible to report any significant clinical or medical information to the Program Director. • Follow detoxification protocol, as directedB: Documentation• Completes appropriate forms for each procedure.• Accurately charts observations on assigned residents using correct charting format and terminology.• Utilizes electronic health record to record shift change reports and communicationsC: Facility Policy and Procedures• Resident SupervisionResident rounds every 30 minutes for face-to-face visual checks• Admits, transfers and discharges residents as assigned.• Searches belongings for contraband, if appropriate, in a respectful manner, according to center policies and procedures.• Participates and assists in resident activities as assigned. Encourages all residents to follow program guidelines and rules.• Responsible to prepare rooms for admits and post discharge (i.e, linens, house cleaning, discharge walk through and welcome basket for new admits)• Provides for the safety and security needs of the residents.• Assists as directed in psychiatric and medical emergenciesD: Other Tasks• Daily completion of tech checklist of duties• Maintain operational flow of daily resident schedule, transportation needs, off property appointments, pharmacy pick up and any other resident activities.• Responsible to communicate medication changes to Director and document changes• Participates in tech in service trainings• Ensure daily resident rounds are completed• Responsible for making sure detox protocols are being followed• Make sure medication destruction form is completed on time and per protocol• Ensure receipts are recorded daily and credit card tracking & approval• Discard any cigarette butts or trash outside or inside• Provide transportation to resident activities, as directed• Provide companionship and support to residents
