Job Summary:
Under general supervision, ensures the safety of customers of the swimming pool facility by preventing and responding to emergencies.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintains constant surveillance of members and guests in the facility; acts immediately and appropriately to secure safety of members and guests in the event of emergency.
• Provides emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services.
• Presents professional appearance and attitude at all times, and maintains a high standard of customer service.
• Performs various maintenance duties as directed to maintain a clean and safe facility.
• Maintains appropriate records of pool usage including visitors, guests, chemical usage, and mechanical records.
• Assists in the set-up and breaking down of tables and chairs.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions.
• Skill in the application of life guarding surveillance and rescue techniques.
• Knowledge of CPR and emergency medical procedures.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment physical skills evaluation as stipulated by the department.
• Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

Credentials and Experience:

• CPR Certified.
• Current certification as Lifeguard by a recognized source of training.
• Six months to one year experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Job Type: Temporary

Pay: $10.00 - $11.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Evening shift
• Holidays
• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed
