As a Principal Machinist, you will have the opportunity to utilize the mills, lathes, mill-turns, and Swiss machines (among others) to produce close-tolerance parts for our medical products. Key roles will be to lead coordinating the set-up and operation of a variety of production machinery to produce close-tolerance precision medical device parts. This position places an integral part in verifying and validating new set-ups for production and first piece runs. Key Duties and Responsibilities: Set up advanced CNC machinery such as 4 and 5 axis mills, Swiss machines, Lathes with live-tooling, etc. and operate advanced multi-axis CNC equipment, tools, and accessories for the fabrication and cutting of materials to process component parts. Maintain close tolerance dimensions while producing parts at the rates established for a given operation Perform verification/validation of new set-up programs for new product or pre-production parts. Perform in-process and first piece inspection Complete offset adjustments to multi-axis equipment to ensure product conforms to strict tolerance Provides training and technical training to less experienced employees. Work Experience Requirements: Minimum of 7-10 years’ experience in operation CNC production equipment Must be able to read, understand, and interpret G and M codes.
