LinQuest Corporation is seeking a Military Maritime Operations Subject Matter Expert (SME) / Modeler who will help advance Department of Defense (DoD) capabilities to conduct mission-level modeling, simulation, and analysis (MS&A) of complex, adaptive kill webs.

The selected individual will serve on a broader multi-disciplinary team of operational military subject matter experts, operations research analysts, and modelers conducting sponsor-directed studies and analyses using an environment and MS&A tool being developed by DARPA. Other applicant requirements and job functions include:

• Strong knowledge of current and emerging operational requirements and capabilities of the Combatant Commands, Services, the Joint Staff and other warfighting commands, as well as operational and tactical experience in maritime, surface, and/or undersea operations as well as with joint and service military planning of the same.
• Development of US Joint maritime concepts of operations (CONOPS) and incorporation of emerging warfighting concepts into a joint, all-domain modeling & simulation environment.
• Assist with the development of behaviors and decision structures for simulation execution, and with interpretation of simulation outputs.
• Contribute expertise during the conduct of studies for senior-level military decision makers, technology developers, and acquisition professionals for use in CONOPS development, force structure design, resource allocation, and targeted technology insertion.
• Lead small teams or tasks in support of the broader overall effort.
• The ideal candidate will have practical experience using AFSIM, NGTS, or similar mission-level M&S software.
• An active Top Secret clearance with Sensitive Comparted Information (SCI) eligibility is required.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline, plus 7 years of experience, or
• Master’s degree in a STEM discipline, plus 5 years of experience
• Military Joint Qualified Officer (JQO) designation (preferred)
• Strong technical background with strong aptitude and willingness to learn M&S scripting language (may substitute with at least one year of hands-on experience with mission-level combat modeling & simulation)
• Expert knowledge/experience in maritime and Joint warfighting capabilities, advanced weapons, current and future operational concepts
• Ability to adjust quickly to new organizational, technological, and employment constructs for planning and CONOPs development
• Excellent project management and/or Joint Operational Planning Process (JOPP) skills
• Ability to think creatively and function as part of a high-performing team
• Ability to coordinate with government and external contractor stakeholders to identify and solve a variety of problems and to clarify objectives
• Excellent oral and written communications skills
• Direct experience developing concepts of operation and/or courses of action in support of maritime and Joint Operational Planning efforts
• Active DoD Top Secret clearance with current SCI eligibility
• Eligible for Special Access Program (SAP) access
• US Citizenship

Preferred Skills & Experience:

• Master’s degree in a STEM discipline, plus 10 years of experience
• Strong background in Joint all-domain operations including maritime (at a minimum), air, land, space, and/or cyber domains
• General working-level knowledge of AFSIM or NGTS; familiarity ITASE, or other mission-level M&S environment
• Specific working-level knowledge of behavior and BMC2 modeling in AFSIM, NGTS, or other similar mission-level M&S framework
• Experience supporting analytical studies of military operations
• Practical experience using AFSIM, NGTS, and/or ITASE
• Active DoD Top Secret clearance with active SCI within the last 12 months
