Linn Products Ltd is Hiring an Information Technology Manager Near Charlotte, MI

A medium to high volume production manufacturing company with a niche in having the ability to assist in design efficiencies and build specialty tooling and fixtures to complete and deliver custom engineered customers product. The IT Manager ensures appropriate policies, practices, software applications and equipment are implemented to provide maximum utility and return on the company's IT investments. The IT Manager is directly responsible for network infrastructure and related policies, and secondarily responsible for IT equipment and policies at the department level, acting at the request of department managers.

RISK MANAGEMENT & DISASTER RECOVERY

  • Develop, implement and maintain effective procedures to routinely back up the company's data, machine programs and software applications, to facilitate a timely disaster recovery
  • Develop, implement and maintain effective procedures to have back-up hardware (PC's, power supplies, drives, network devices, etc) for mission critical systems including production equipment, to recover from isolated system failures
  • Effectively administer user rights and security profiles to control access to the network folders/directories, files, software modules, data bases, etc. to prevent unauthorized network access
  • Develop, implement and maintain effective measures to control outside access to the LPI LAN to prevent intentional or unintentional viral infections, and unauthorized access to the network
  • Provide PM support for PC systems used in production operations

HELP DESK SUPPORT, SPECIAL PROJECTS

  • Maintain and publish an 'IT SUPPORT REQUESTS LOG' that provides a history of fulfilled or rejected requests, and the priority and status of requests in process
  • Provide or acquire necessary resources to keep the network, PC's, devices, and applications working effectively with minimal downtime or low productivity
  • Identify technical skills deficiencies and provide or coordinate necessary training resources to improve user knowledge and functional skills
  • Implement preventative measures as deemed necessary to minimize recurring support issues
  • Provide or acquire necessary resources to support custom report writing (Crystal Reports)
  • Act as liaison to primary software vendors to address and resolve software problems in a timely manner
  • Collaborate with managers and supervisors to identify opportunities for IT improvement, especially in the manufacturing area, and to plan and implement approved projects

IT ASSET & COST MANAGEMENT

  • Maintain accurate records of IT resources (PC's, software app's, licenses, network appliances, etc.)
  • Assess and recommend the best (and cost effective) solutions for IT hardware and software considering current and future needs, TCO (Total Cost of Ownership), etc.
  • Maintain proper licensing of all software applications deployed and in use
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with outside suppliers of IT resources
  • Appropriately test and install software upgrades to assure maximum function with minimal disruption
  • Effectively maintain existing IT infrastructure
  • Responsibly dispose of obsolete IT equipment

IT SYSTEM PLANNING
Develop and maintain a mid- to long-term IT SYSTEM DEVELOPMENT PLAN to address software and equipment obsolescence, company growth, changing IT needs, new technology deployment, etc.
LPI WEBSITE

  • Provide or acquire necessary resources to maintain/improve/enhance the company's website
  • Provide measures of the website's utility, effectiveness

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
