We are looking for a talented Fabricator Apprenticewho is responsible for supporting the fabrication department through welding and proper use of hand tools.
Main Responsibilities:
Read and understand blueprints
Fit and weld various materials (steel, aluminum etc.) to print tolerance
Ability to weld out of position, including vertical and overhead
Proficient in MIG, TIG, and Stick welding
Proper use of hand tools including sanders, grinders and measuring tools
Load and unload steel delivery trucks
Receive and verify accuracy of material deliveries
Ensure work is performed in a safe manner using all available safety equipment
All other related duties as assigned
Possess mental faculties consistent with performing the minimum requirements of the job
Adhere and perform all duties aligned with the core values of the LINK Group organization, Can-Do Attitude, Courage, Commitment, Humility and Accountability
Qualifications:
High School Diploma
Completion of an accredited Welding Training Program or 2 years of welding experience
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Strong math skills and ability to read measuring scales and tape measure
Forklift Certification preferred
Overhead crane experience preferred
Hydraulic shear machine and Press Brake experience preferred
Ability to use a computer
Physical Requirements:
The position is located in a manufacturing environment and will involve hands-on work. Physical activity may include lifting (up to 50lbs.), bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, hand-eye coordination, and manual dexterity or sitting for long periods of time.
Ability to speak verbally, and read in English
Ability to see with corrective lenses
Ability to differentiate colors
Ability to hear
Ability to walk
Ability to travel up to 10% domestically
Hazards:
Normal hazards related to working in an office environment, manufacturing, and testing environment
Normal hazards related to road and air travel
