LINETEC is Hiring an Environmental Manager Near Wausau, WI
Linetec Summary of Position: Coordinates all Environmental / Wastewater / Recycling / Hazardous Waste Departments & Activities in assigned cost center to effectively and safely abide by all regulatory requirements including RCRA, CERCLA, EPA, and DNR. Also ensures compliance to Linetec specific permit requirements. Essential Duties: Interprets regulations and permit requirements for air emissions, hazardous waste, waste water, shipping, labeling etc. as required by state, federal and local law. Develop, establish, and implement long-range and short-term strategies to ensure environmental compliance. Serve as liaison with external resources and government agencies Coordinate with production operations to ensure site compliance with environmental, waste management and chemical safety protocol. Conduct inspections or assessments to determine compliance and provide advice and recommendations regarding compliance issues and corrective actions to production departments. Coordinate services or materials for the administration and implementation of environmental programs Ensure all environmental monitoring, maintenance, and reports are completed by required deadlines Provide training to site personnel in the handling of chemicals, waste materials, environmental reporting and recordkeeping and other associate functions. Evaluates new permit and regulation requirements. Develops and coordinates implementation of compliance plans to meet those new regulation and permit conditions. Report the status of compliance, projects and budget considerations to Director of Manufacturing Engineering. Represent environmental /engineering/ manufacturing on cross-functional project teams. Apply statistical methods and perform analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement and increased efficiency in environmental activities. Develop written standard operating procedures and work instructions for key environmental related processes and functions. Promote safety at all times. Apply Lean principles in own work performance and drive Lean applications in company operations Qualifications and Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline required – preferably in, Environmental, Civil or Chemical Engineering or Environmental Studies A minimum of 3-5 years’ work experience in environmental air and water permitting and/or compliance is required. Must have the ability to diplomatically handle sensitive situations with regulatory agencies, the public and company personnel at all levels. Familiarity with Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma concepts Computer proficiency (CAD, Excel, Outlook) Strong written and verbal communication skills – technical writing experience preferred Quality orientation, high attention to detail, and highly organized Project management experience and the ability to multi-task and manage contract resources Job Specific Physical Requirements/Work Environment: 75% exposure to the production environment (heat, operating machinery and noise).
