Lindsey Excavation & Demolition, LLC. is Hiring a Project Estimator Near Nashville, TN

Assists in preparing prime and subcontract bids to contractors and state agencies. Liaison between agencies, owners, plants and contracting. Coordinates with the Field Supervisors during project construction and assists in preparing schedules. Establishes construction budget and manages project to come in under budget or meet budgeted cost. Prepares job cost and job billings.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Reviews construction projects advertised for bid and selects appropriate projects meeting objectives upon the Area Manager’s approval. Prior to bid date, bid documents are reviewed and coordinated with the Contract Administrator to ensure that bid bonds are secured. Ensures that Good Faith Effort for Minority Goal Participation is undertaken if it is required by the contract. Becomes thoroughly familiar with the special provisions of the contract and with the general provisions of the agency. Performs plan quantity take-off and visits the site. Identifies each trade that must be subcontracted. Determines the scope of work involved by each trade. Solicits at least three subcontractors per trade. Prepares the bid in a timely manner for the manager’s review. Ensures that the bid is delivered on time.
2. Facilitates the signing and/or negotiation of construction contracts. Prepares subcontracts and purchase order agreements. Schedules and attends the preconstruction conference. Prepares and facilitates all the required submittals.
3. Prepares a cost budget for the construction superintendent and monitors job progress. Prepares and monitors job cost information.
4. Negotiates change order requests.
5. Assists in preparing progress billings and approves quantities for payment to subcontractors and suppliers.
6. Prepares final contract closeout including monitoring final payment quantities and retention billing.

7. Negotiates all claims and disputes along with the Area Manager.
8. Keeps abreast of professional and technical developments to maintain and improve knowledge and skills needed for superior job performance and to improve operational efficiencies.

Other duties may be assigned as required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
