Summary: The music coordinator ensures continuity in music K-12 programs, ensuring support from music instruction and the appropriate allocation of resources. This is an hourly position that averages 15 hours per week during the school year with minimal summer hours.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned.

• Overseeing the music instruction K-12 to ensure student access to rich programs, including elementary music and elementary strings; middle school band, orchestra, choir, and general music; and high school band, orchestra, and choir
• Inventorying and evaluating music program needs through classroom and performance observation and collaboration with music staff
• Developing and managing the music budget, including creating a schedule for instrument and uniform replacement
• Collaborating with the auditorium manager on performance schedules and needs
• Collaborating with the activities director on MSHSAA eligibility requirements and student extracurricular activities, including summer camps and extra duty extra pay responsibilities.
• Scheduling cross-district faculty
• Leading curriculum development implementation
• Coordinating professional learning for music teachers
• Coordinating MSHSAA large ensemble music festivals, including serving as the E Desmond Lee Fine Arts Collaborative district representative
• Collaborating with school principals on the supervision and evaluation of music staff
• Serving as the music representative on the LHS Building Leadership Team and the district Professional Learning Team
• Other administrative duties, as needed.
