PRIMARY FUNCTIONS

The primary functions include using finishing processes on products by performing the following duties.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the Major Responsibilities, including the following:

  • Accurately performs basic finishing processes with minimal supervision.
  • Deburrs and polishes parts quickly and accurately.
  • Operates the laser etch machine.
  • Operates the polisher/tumbler.
  • Performs basic to mid-level assemblies
  • Performs passivation processes
  • Operates the grit/glass machines with minimal supervision
  • Reads and understands blueprints, routers, work instructions and inspection procedures and determines the most effective method of work
  • Verifies quality by using basic measuring equipment such as micrometers or calipers. Identifies and segregates rejected parts.
  • Adequately documents work.
  • Works overtime as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); six months to one-year experience and or training preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, memos, routers and written procedures.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as circumference and to perform basic math skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry

REASONING ABILITY:

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
