Special Education Division - Therapeutic Emotional Support (TES)

Assist special education teachers in maintaining a positive learning environment in the classroom, ensuring the continuance of the education program developed by the teacher.
A Therapeutic Emotional Support (TES) classroom provides students with a classroom that focuses on academics and social skills to be successful in a regular education setting.
Assists with planning and implementing individual and group strategies for students as so defined by student’s Individual Education Plan (IEP).
Assists in maintaining up-to-date records on each student, describing strategies for each student’s program.
Works closely with teacher as a member of the educational team to continually modify program for each student.
Assists student with dressing, toileting, feeding, and self-care as needed.
Participates in regular staff meetings, if appropriate.
Reads, understands, and is responsible for implementing and documenting behavior plan and/or individualized education program, as appropriate.
Observes and intervenes to redirect inappropriate behavior.

Full - time, 188 days; follows traditional school year schedule.

ESPA, TA/PCA pay scale, minimum $13.84/hour, plus comprehensive benefits package.
