Brief Job Summary
This position is responsible for the implementation of the One-Stop voting procedures according to NC General Statues. Performs difficult skilled clerical and responsible technical work for the office of the Director of Elections; does related work as required. Work is performed under the regular supervision of the Director of Elections.
Job Responsibilities
o Responsible for the implementation of all aspects of the One-Stop voting; Special Transfer Procedures; Provisional Ballot Procedures. o Coordinates procedures to enhance the accessibility and convenience of voters to utilize these special provisions. o Answers inquiries concerning voter registration laws. o Prepares, updates, and enters voters’ registration records utilizing computer data base. o Sets up voting equipment, (booths, computer, and printer). o Arranges facility with tables, chairs, so that voters can easily enter the voting facility. o Receives, processes, and records all one-stop ballot applications. o Issues ballots to one-stop voters and special transfer voters. o Maintains records regarding reasons absentee ballots were issued. o Enters information into computer system. o Screens one-stop applications for eligibility. o Registers new voters, changes voters addresses, issues ballots to voters. o Maintains all one-stop records, files, ballots, and computer records pertaining to one-stop voting. o Reconciles ballots, applications, and voter registration records daily. o Delivers ballots, applications and memory stick to Elections Office daily. o Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
o Ability to read, write, and perform mathematical calculations at a level commonly associated with the completion of high school or equivalent. o Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position. o Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of North Carolina for the type of vehicle or equipment operated. o Ability to meet requirements set by the State Board of Elections.

Thorough knowledge of the functions and organization of the Elections Office. o Thorough knowledge of the One-Stop Voting Laws of the State and Federal Government. o Thorough knowledge of the rules, standard office procedures, practices and equipment. o Ability to research and prepare reports independently. o Ability to express ideas effectively both orally and in writing. o Ability to solve problems within the scope of responsibility. o Ability to maintain effective working relationships with the County Board of Elections, employees, and the general public. o Ability to type accurately and at a reasonable rate of speed.
