Functioning within the Health System’s mission, values, objectives, policies and procedures, the Manager – Anesthesia/PAT/SOPU/PACU provides a wide-range of administrative and operational support to the anesthesiologists and nurse anesthetists (CRNA’s), as well as the Director of Surgical Services. The Manager will oversee non-clinical operations and serves as the administrative liaison and resource for anesthesia services.
Serving in a dual role, under the direction of the Director of Surgical Services, this position also has oversite of the departments of PAT, SOPU & PACU. This individual is a registered nurse who extends and supports the Director with management of the fiscal, physical and human resources of the departments including responsibility for planning and decision making, managing relationships, staff development, and oversight of the delivery of services. Responsibilities include collaboration with scheduling and physician offices to ensure an optimal patient experience, budgeting, quality control, managing relationships and staff development. The Manager ensures that initiatives are in place to assure that quality, cost containment, patient and physician satisfaction, and associate engagement goals are met. Collaborating with other LMHS leaders, the Manager develops and implements an operational plan that is in alignment with the organizations strategic plan.
Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required.
Licensure/Certification: Must hold a valid unrestricted RN license with the Ohio Board of Nursing. BLS and ACLS also required. CNOR certification is preferred.
Experience: Minimum two (2) - three (3) years' experience in healthcare management. Minimum one (1) year experience in a supervisory capacity. Knowledge of the local community health care environment sufficient to interact with other health care providers and administrators.
Skills: Understanding of medical office operations sufficient to oversee its operations and provide support to the Medical Director and physicians. Skill in exercising a high degree of judgment, discretion and decision making necessary to achieve organizational objectives. Must possess analytical skill sufficient to organize and prepare comprehensive reports. Ability to organize and integrate organizational objectives in order to meet deadlines. Ability to manage and direct others; Ability to address and resolve conflict in a professional manner; Ability to maintain strict confidentiality; Excellent communications skills (verbal and written); Ability to work in fast-paced corporate environment; Excellent decision making and judgment skills; Strong interpersonal skills; Good negotiation skills; Good computer skills (word-processing, spreadsheet, and database management).
