About the Position Fixed Income Operations, a division of Cantor Fitzgerald is seeking an Operations analyst for a trade confirmation and TMPG role. This position will provide exceptional client service to our internal and external clients and vendors. Advanced Microsoft Office skills, attention to detail and follow-up skills are critical to this position as are intellectual curiosity, a sense of urgency and a desire for continual improvement to processes, performance, and business knowledge. Trade confirmation
Confirmation of transactions with our customers and brokers and dealers
Confirmation of failing transactions
Creation of fail reports
Creation of vendor-based trade reports
What is TMPG? The Treasury Market Practices Group (TMPG) is a group of market professionals committed to supporting the integrity and efficiency of the Treasury, agency debt, and agency mortgage-backed securities markets. The TMPG fails charge for U.S. Treasury securities states that a buyer of Treasury securities can claim monetary compensation from the seller if the seller fails to deliver the securities on a timely basis. In an effort to penalize counterparties for not delivering securities in a timely manner, TMPG was formed to offset the time value of money that is lost. TMPG operates on a monthly basis (ex. February TMPG will happen in March), and all claims must be sent to counterparties within the first 10 business days of the month.
Responsible for adhering to all TMPG, MBS, and Bank Loan processes and guidelines
Creation and distribution of Claim Letters to counterparts
Process and facilitate up to multi-million-dollar TBA pair-off wires for 3 MBS settlement cycles per month
Process and facilitate hundred-million-dollar Syndicate and Agency loans for Cantor Fitzgerald's lending desk
Manage, research, and collection of TMPG Receivables per month
Active use of Hazeltree, Phase 3, Citrix, Helix, DTCC, FICC, and Oracle platforms
Qualifications
Excellent verbal, written, and non-verbal communication skills
Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Windows, Excel, PowerPoint, Word and electronic communications tools. Microsoft Certifications a plus
Problem solving skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with all levels of staff and management
