Liliuokalani Trust (LT) is a private operating foundation founded in 1909 by Hawaiis last reigning monarch, Queen Liliuokalani. Income to support the mission of the Queen is derived from her lands in Waikk and at Keahuol in Kona, and from a diversified portfolio of marketable securities and private investments. LT provides an array of services to kamalii (beneficiary children) and their families to reach their full potential in life. With Hawaiian cultural values and practices as a foundation, our programs in the arts, sports, ina (land) and creative media boost self-confidence and instill l...eadership and resilience among youth. LT has broadened its mission from a social welfare casework focus to include community change initiatives that affect the systems impacting Hawaiian families. The primary beneficiaries continue to be orphan and other desitute children, but our work also emphasizes the building of thriving Hawaiian communities and families that nurture and support their children. Our vision is to make a deeper system impact by focusing on breaking the cycle of poverty for Native Hawaiian families.
