Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our healthcare team. As an LPN, you will provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the well-being and comfort of patients while assisting with their medical needs. Responsibilities: - Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers - Monitor patient vital signs and report any significant changes to the healthcare team - Assist with diagnostic tests and procedures, including specimen collection - Collaborate with registered nurses and physicians to develop and implement patient care plans - Provide basic patient education on health conditions, medications, and self-care techniques - Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records using electronic health record systems such as Athenahealth - Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and maintain a clean and safe patient environment - Assist with the coordination of patient referrals, appointments, and follow-up care - Provide emotional support to patients and their families during challenging times Experience: To be successful in this role, you should have: - Previous experience in an acute care setting such as the emergency room or critical care unit - Strong knowledge of physiology, pharmacology, and medical terminology - Proficiency in IV infusion techniques and medication administration - Experience in home care, hospice care, or case management is preferred - Familiarity with catheter care procedures - Basic life support (BLS) certification We offer competitive pay rates and comprehensive benefits packages for our LPNs.
