Major manufacuring company located in Shelton, CT is currently hiring for Production Operators. This is an entry level position, but at least 3 months of Warehouse/Production experience preferred. We are hiring for 2 shifts. Hours are 12 hour shifts, two day on/two days off. Pay is $15.75 for 1st shift and $16.25 for the overnight shift.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for area set-up including raw material, cartons to assigned production lines and transport within warehouse.

• Proper usage of equipment to complete banding, wrapping, stacking and proper storage of all regrind and of finished goods.

• Segregates and identifies different materials into the appropriate plastic category.

• Ensures proper use of grinder to prevent jams or other malfunctions.

• Maintains general cleanliness and maintenance of grinder machinery; operates and cleans Torit dust collectors.

• Cover, shrink-wraps and labels filled gaylords after shredding grinding.

• Ensures that the product is in a shippable configuration and palletized correctly according to the PSF/TiHi and moving finished goods to warehouse.

• Examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records product information, shortages, and deficiencies or problems to supervisor or purchasing department.

• Ensures your work area is maintained in order and is free of unused items, carts, machinery not in use to mitigate safety hazards and maintain good housekeeping practices.
