CLASSIFICATION:
1099 Contractor. Fee for service.


WORK SCHEDULE:
Flexible as scheduled based upon availability of contractor.


COMPENSATION RANGE:
$25 - $40 per session (or per billable hour) with the exception of groups (see fee schedule)


ANTICIPATED TRAVEL:
20% of the time no additional compensation paid for travel


SUMMARY OF POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Addictions Counseling & Peer Recovery Unit Clinical Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing the clinical aspects of addiction treatment programs within a healthcare facility or counseling center. This position involves providing supervision, guidance, and support to a team of addiction counselors and therapists to ensure the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based treatment services to individuals struggling with substance abuse disorders.


SCHEDULED DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
.

1. Clinical Supervision:
  • Provide clinical supervision to peer recovery specialists, addiction counselors and therapists, including individual and group supervision sessions.
  • Review and evaluate counselors' clinical assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes to ensure adherence to best practices and regulatory standards.
  • Offer guidance and support in developing effective counseling techniques and interventions for clients with substance abuse disorders.
  • Facilitate case consultations and discussions to address complex client cases and develop appropriate treatment strategies.
2. Staff Training and Development:
  • Coordinate and conduct training sessions, workshops, and seminars for addiction counseling staff on relevant topics such as therapeutic modalities, addiction theory, co-occurring disorders, and ethical guidelines.
  • Support counselors in staying abreast of current research, trends, and advancements in addiction treatment through ongoing education and professional development opportunities.
3. Program Development and Evaluation:
  • Collaborate with the program director and other stakeholders to develop, implement, and evaluate addiction treatment programs and services.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to assess program effectiveness, identify areas for enhancement, and implement evidence-based practices.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and organizational policies related to addiction treatment services.
4. Clinical Documentation and Record Keeping:
  • Review and approve clinical documentation, including intake assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, discharge summaries, and other relevant documentation, to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client information and adhere to HIPAA regulations and other privacy laws.
5. Interdisciplinary Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with other members of the multidisciplinary treatment team, including physicians, nurses, social workers, and psychiatrists, to provide comprehensive care and support to clients with co-occurring disorders.
  • Communicate effectively with external stakeholders, such as referral sources, community agencies, and insurance providers, to coordinate care and advocate for clients' needs.

6. Meet with all assigned supervisees once every pay period for clinical supervision. Document clinical supervision sessions in ICANotes indicating the agenda of the session in the note.

8. Render co-occurring counseling to your assigned caseload of clients as assigned.


UNSCHEDULED DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participate in external and internal audits/surveys (CARF/CSA/OHCQ) as directed by the supervisor.
  • Participates in quality assurance and performance improvement plans by completing periodic audits or other activities to ensure regulatory compliance and/or improve service delivery.
  • Assist the supervisor with any work-related tasks as requested.
  • Collaborate with and serve as program POC for external treatment providers and outside agencies as needed.
  • Responsible for following regulations of COMAR, CARF, any other regulatory body, and company policies/ procedures related to service delivery and documentation and co-facilitating orientation of all new hires to these as well.
  • Support the maintenance of a safe environment by participating in training and drills as requested.
  • Advise the supervisor on the development and implementation of protocols to better enhance the efficiency of day to day operations effecting change when approvals are made.
  • Troubleshoot and abate any issues that could adversely affect the day-to-day operations.
  • Report to the Supervisor daily and as requested. Report deviation of operational standards to CEO daily.
  • Collaborate with department leaders, external landlords, vendors, utilities providers, housing related external entities and supervisees regularly as needed.
  • Have knowledge of Policies and Procedures of Holbrock Estates Supportive Housing / LightHouse Behavioral Healthcare.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of COMAR as it pertains to assisted living and other residential regulations within the scope of services rendered by the company.
  • Report to the ALM, CEO, COO, manager via email when starting and ending service period if not using Company’s time keeping system.
  • Check emails and company group texts at least every 30 minutes while on duty; respond accordingly.
  • Assist the ALM, CEO, COO and/or contract manager with other services as requested / directed.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Regularly walk, stand or stoop; occasionally lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects weighing up to 25 pounds; and regularly drives a motor vehicle.


WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed in an office, in client’s homes or in the community; Work exposes incumbent to contagious or infectious diseases; Work may expose incumbent to dangerous and volatile situations; which could result in bodily injury.

COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience providing direct clinical services in addiction treatment settings.
  • Demonstrated expertise in evidence-based addiction treatment modalities, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing (MI), and trauma-informed care.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and ethical guidelines governing addiction treatment services.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team and to effectively supervise and mentor clinical staff.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous quality improvement in addiction treatment practices.


LEVEL OF EDUCATION/TRAINING/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's or doctoral degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or a related field.
  • Licensed or certified addiction counselor (e.g., LCADC, LPC, CADC, or equivalent) with clinical supervisory credentials with Maryland Board of Professional Counselors is required.
