LightFeather is Hiring a QA Engineer Near Alexandria, VA

LightFeather is currently seeking a skilled QA Engineer to ensure products meet the highest standards of quality. In this role, you will play a critical part in the software development lifecycle by ensuring applications are robust, reliable, and user-friendly. You will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and be involved in all stages of testing, from planning and design to execution and reporting.
This Position is Full Time, Remote.Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough manual testing of software applications, develop and maintain test cases and test plans, and identify, log, and track defects, collaborating with developers to resolve issues
  • Design, develop, and execute performance and load tests using JMeter, analyze test results, provide detailed reports on performance metrics, and recommend improvements to handle expected and peak user loads efficiently
  • Automate functional and regression tests for web applications using Selenium WebDriver, create and maintain automated test scripts, and integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline for continuous testing
  • Develop and execute unit, integration, and system tests for Java applications using JUnit, collaborate with developers to write testable code, and participate in code reviews to ensure test coverage and adherence to best practices
  • Utilize Splunk and Rancher to monitor, analyze, and visualize system logs and application metrics, diagnose issues by correlating log data with system performance, and maintain dashboards and alerts to identify potential problems
  • Write and execute complex SQL queries to validate data integrity in Oracle databases, perform data-driven testing, and work with database administrators to understand schema changes and their impact on the application
  • Collaborate with development teams to understand requirements, design test strategies, and integrate testing activities, and communicate test results, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders
  • Use Jira and X-ray to manage test cases, track testing progress, report defects, ensure traceability between requirements, test cases, and defects, and continuously improve test management practices
Qualifications:
  • US Citizenship
  • DHS clearance at the Public Trust level or above, must be active or held within the last 2 years. USCIS preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience
  • Valid Section 508 Trusted Tester Certification
  • 3 years of proven experience in manual testing methodologies and practices
  • Proficient in using JMeter for performance and load testing
  • Experienced in using Selenium for browser automation
  • Comfortable working with Oracle databases and able to write and execute complex queries
  • Skilled in using Splunk and Rancher to view and analyze logs
  • Hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, and JUnit testing frameworks
  • Experience with Jenkins for automation and continuous integration
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and accuracy
