LIGHTFEATHER IO LLC is Hiring a Remote DevOps Engineer

LightFeather is currently seeking a DevOps Engineer who is well–versed in Agile methodologies, AWS Cloud, DevOps, and cyber security best practices. Successful candidates must thrive in a collaborative team culture.

This Position is Full Time, Remote.

Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with customers, cloud partners and other internal groups to evaluate and support new technologies, industry specific use cases and architectures based on client needs.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in developing standardized and efficient CI/CD pipelines.
  • Demonstrate high level of knowledge and experience with IaC (Infrastructure as Code) using CloudFormation, Terraform, Ruby / Rake, etc.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in implementing and remediating security vulnerabilities that aligns with government standards and best practices.
  • Able to develop scripts or implement processes that can automate tasks.
  • Proactive responses to infrastructure support / troubleshooting requests, triaging and understanding complexities.
  • Independently troubleshoot and understand tasks from Jira tickets.
  • Lead O&M initiatives, involving System OS hardening (e.g. Ubuntu / Windows), Application version upgrades (e.g. Ruby, Java, and etc.), Serverless database (Postgres or Aurora), Jenkins / CloudBees management, ElasticSearch / OpenSearch.
  • Experience with automated security/vulnerability scanning tools (Prisma Cloud, Nexus IQ, SonarQube, etc.).
  • Experience with enterprise level system performance and monitoring tools (New Relic, Splunk).
  • Experience in maintaining and deploying containerized infrastructure with ECS and/or EKS.
  • Demonstrate ability to work collaboratively and building-trusting relationships with stakeholders.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative and agile environment.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.
  • Responsive to team communications, client requests, and system alerts.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language.

Minimum Requirements:

  • US Citizenship.
  • DHS Public Trust EOD eligible.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • 6 years of experience in enterprise software engineering leadership roles at leading-edge companies.
  • 4 years of experience with IAC Frameworks CloudFormation and/or Terraform.
  • 4 years of experience with Jenkins Automation.
  • 4 years of experience in deploying containerized applications to AWS using ECS and/or EKS.
  • Certified AWS Cloud Solutions Architect.
  • Thorough understanding of Ruby (Rake tasks).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior or current security clearance at the public trust level or above is preferred.
  • Skills and technologies that would be nice to have: Jenkins (including Groovy Scripting), Ansible, Chef, SSL Certs/Keystore, Java/Node.js, EKS (Kubernetes), Splunk, New Relic, Networking, High Level Database Setup, Cloudformation, Bash/Shell Scripting, Documentation.
