Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

The Corporate Paralegal /will be responsible for providing oversight and expertise to ensure our business processes and transactions follow all relevant legal and internal guidelines, while meeting our business goals. Working closely with our executive team, and Legal Counsel as needed, to create and maintain corporate filings, organizational documents, contracts, and related records. They will perform Risk and Compliance duties by identifying, measuring, reporting, and tracking operational and enterprise risk as needed.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage various legal projects and initiatives
  • Work closely with CFO, President and/or CEO, along with Company’s Legal Counsel as needed
  • Assist in preparing legal documents such as contracts, agreements, preparing legal arguments based on research
  • Provide continuing counsel and guidance on all legal matters
  • Identify, file, and track appropriate filings
  • Review and Maintain agreements entered into by the company
  • Perform Contract Reviews
  • Compliance program record keeping as requested
  • Conduct legal research and fact-finding as needed, advising when as requested
  • Participate in the definition and development of corporate policies, procedures, and programs, providing continuing counsel and guidance on legal matters
  • Become educated on state laws in states where employees reside
  • Successfully complete special projects and other assignments as requested

Customer Agreements

  • Review all customer agreements for risk and compliance.
  • Ensure company is honoring special contractual commitments across customer base
  • SLA’s / Reporting
  • Ensure company is fulfilling contractual service levels
  • Assess and report on potential penalties and reporting requirements
  • Ensure Lightbeam is fulfilling all contractual commitments and is abiding by all laws

QUALIFYING EXPERIENCE, JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Ability to interact with people at all levels of the corporate structure, prioritize and handle numerous competing demands in a high-volume, fast-paced working environment
  • Ability to handle matters of a sensitive and confidential nature, and to maintain composure while working under pressure
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of contacts including outside attorneys, senior management, and business associates
  • Ability to work independently or with a team
  • Identify and resolve or escalate issues in a timely manner
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Word, Excel, and Power Point
  • Ability to write clear summarization reports
  • Ability to adjust to changing circumstances

  • Strong research, investigative and reporting skills
  • Ability to educate and advise management and employees on legal ssues

EDUCATION:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline; law, business management or related field
  • Paralegal Certification
