OVERVIEW OF POSITION: Reporting to the Executive Director, the Program Director will oversee the day-to-day operations of the program and ensure compliance with all regulations mandated by all state and local licensing agencies. S/he will be responsible for curriculum planning, teacher quality, and staff performance development. Additional responsibilities include:

• Market the program to ensure full center utilization year-round including hosting open house events, posts to approved social media platforms, creation of flyers, etc., and promote partnership with surrounding communities.

• Communicate Center goals and philosophy to program staff and families. Maintain an active system of Family-Center relationships. Lead events and activities that encourage family participation, including classroom parent meetings, parent workshops, and staff/family social events.

• Engage and maintain effective communication with families in the program through daily conversations, family meetings, notices/postings, emails, newsletters, individual conferences (formal and informal), and semi-annual family/staff programs.

• Conduct regular classroom observations, staff meetings, and monthly classroom team meetings to ensure compliance. Evaluate staff performance, coach, guide, and train staff.

• Demonstrate knowledge of local, state, and federal laws regarding safety requirements, inspections, and certification procedures and ensure the program complies with those requirements.

• Maintain Director qualifications and required credentials.

• Maintain knowledge of new developments and research in the field of early childhood education through ongoing workshops and training.

• Perform other duties, activities, and projects as assigned and directed.
