MISSION

SUMMARY

To provide direct care support and opportunities for individuals to develop and maintain employment skills through supervision, role modeling and teaching, while assisting them to establish a network of relationships that enhance and enrich their lives. Complies with all principles of Human Rights, D.P.P.C., Department of Developmental Services, the Division of Medical Assistance and all other applicable funding regulations as adhered to by Lifeworks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Provides transportation to and from Lifeworks and job sites by either Lifeworks or personal vehicles as necessary. Staff is reimbursed at the agency mileage rate for any use of their vehicle within the guidelines established by Lifeworks.
  • Provide staff support, supervision, and training in all settings as needed including individual job placements, enclaves, and the Lifeworks Employment training center to help increase the individual’s self-sufficiency and independence, and to meet the needs and expectations of the employer. Will be able to provide support to employers as necessary and will ensure quality and consistency of work performed by these individuals.
  • Provide education, coaching, training, counseling, guidance, and physical assistance when necessary to achieve the goals of the person served in the following areas: employment, education, social growth, health and wellness, communication skills, community mobility, and volunteerism.
  • Maintains regular communication with individuals and team members. Maintains confidentiality and professional demeanor concerning all individuals and staff members. Attends regular meetings as necessary. Ability to be flexible required regarding necessary changes in work schedule and tasks as assigned by supervisor to cover the needs of the individual supported.
  • Maintain, review and submit all assigned paperwork including assistance with payroll for individuals served to Supervisor according to agency procedures.

Other duties and/or assignments to work/program locations based on the needs of the company.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has no supervisory responsibilities of other staff.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required; related experience preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write and proofread routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak and present effectively before individuals or employees of an organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

VEHICLE/TRAVEL

Requires a legally insured and inspected automobile for use to be presented at work and available for use during working hours. If the program has an agency vehicle, staff are expected to drive it as needed.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Valid and current driver’s license from the state of residency, CPR, First Aid certification

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

During the performance of the duties of this job, the employee can be expected to have meal breaks with the individuals served and to provide them with any assistance that they need during these meal breaks.

  • A copy of a Covid-19 vaccination of two shots will be required

Yearly Salary: $40,000

Work Schedule: Monday-Thursday (8 am – 4 pm)
