JOB DUTIES:

• Process claims for ambulatory, wheelchair and gurney level transports.
• Obtaining referrals and pre-authorizations as required
• Verify insurance eligibility for all patient accounts
• Basic knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid Regulations and Billing Guidelines
• Basic knowledge of Commercial, PPO, and HMO Regulations and Billing Guidelines.
• Respond to inquires from insurance companies, patients and clients.
• Collection calls and/ or correspondence with external clients or patients for payment.
• Ability to assign ICD-10 diagnosis codes.
• All other duties as assigned.

SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

• Sound knowledge of medical terminology and billing
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Monitor daily volume and productivity to improve efficiency.
• Maintain current knowledge of industry trends and practices.
• Become knowledgeable in and keep compliance with federal and state regulations relating to department functions, patient confidentiality and medical records release.
