Lifestream Health Center is Hiring a Clinical Coordinator Near Bowie, MD

Job Summary:

The RN/LPN Clinical Coordinator will oversee and assist medical assistants with the clinical and pharmacy-related activities of the healthcare facility. They assist with the intake of patients, IV starts, medication administration and infusion therapy, and monitoring. They manage staff, communicate with different departments, and ensure adequate patient care among other duties.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Aiding HR or Practice Administrator in the interview or hiring process as needed for the clinical and pharmacy teams
  • Assists with training new hires and writing guidelines for reference (SOPs) for the clinical and pharmacy teams
  • Coach clinical staff including (weekly) routine clinical meetings, one-on-ones
  • Create and ensure accuracy of job descriptions for direct reports
  • Deliver feedback and/or hold necessary disciplinary/ termination meetings with clinical and pharmacy staff as required in partnership with HR or Practice Manager
  • Conduct performance reviews in partnership with HR or Practice Manager
  • Responsible for monitoring clinical and pharmacy staff required ongoing safety and compliance training and certifications
  • Review weekly practice goals with the clinical and pharmacy staff
  • Ensure Pharmacy and Clinical supply levels are maintained at an adequate level; neat and organized
  • Attending bi-weekly provider meetings for updates and overall improvement in the office
  • Establish relationships with Medical supply and Pharmaceutical companies

Duties/Responsibilities: KPI tracker to be completed and submitted in a timely fashion.

Pharmacy

  • Monitor and count pharmacy inventory weekly
  • DME/specialty med ordering
  • Lead the staff in promoting the benefits of the pharmacy fills to patients
  • Identify new or current WC dispense patients who are eligible for receiving medications in-house
  • Ensure that medical supplies are maintained and ordered appropriately
  • Maintain connections with various vendors and reps to ensure competitive pricing
  • Finalize all arrangements for sedation procedures, including scheduling based on insurance or PA status and completing the pre-screening protocol

Clinical

  • Contribute to new or updated policies and protocols for clinical and office workflow
  • Help with the process for new platforms or applications such as Neuroflow and Klara
  • Responsible for handling and responding to any patient complaints with regard to clinical care. Practice Administrator will assist when needed.
  • IV starts and Infusion therapy monitoring
  • Review sedation schedule to verify all appointments labeled correctly
  • Ensure sedation procedures are scheduled appropriately with no gaps
  • Ensure Dr. Merritt's sedation schedule reflects the goals set
  • Arrange bi-monthly litigated claims meeting with AHCS/MD
  • Ensure all providers are scheduled appropriately
  • Send pre-op instructions to outside providers for approval
  • Work with staff members to ensure schedules are optimal
  • Coach clinical staff/Scribes
  • Confirm prescriptions using EMR
  • Identify WC/lien patients and dispense medication to patients that fall in this category
  • Keep an updated spreadsheet for all licensing in the practice (DEA, CDS, BLS, CPR)
  • Available for support to the providers and clinical staff when necessary
  • Procedure room inventory and ordering
  • Send OP reports to ASC
  • Monthly leadership meetings
  • Oversee IT pump/med refills

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred
  • At least two years of related supervisory experience required
  • LPN or RN licensure

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
