Brief Job description:
The Peer Support Specialist must be an individual who lives an addiction and has demonstrated at least two years of commitment to his/her own personal recovery. Provides a variety of recovery-oriented services to individuals who have self-identified as desiring peer supports, in order to promote greater independence, community integration and recovery from substance abuse. Person must identify on the application or cover letter how they have “lived” personal experience leading to an understanding of the needs of persons with substance abuse issues. Peer specialist is needed to work with clients in transitional living to support them in recovery.
