POSITION SUMMARY:

Performs routine service, preventive maintenance and repairs on all LifeShare vehicles in assigned region to facilitate continuity of business operations and ensure employee safety.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Performs routine service and preventive maintenance on buses, vans, cars, box trucks, generators, and other related equipment in accordance with factory recommendations.
2. Monitors service requests and faulty conditions noted in pre-trip inspection reports and ensures prompt correction of issues.
3. Diagnoses failures of vehicle components and systems; disassembles, repairs and reassembles parts as necessary; tests repairs to ensure quality control.
4. Performs daily inspection of bus, van and truck tires, ensuring acceptable condition and correcting to proper psi when indicated.
5. Services all interior and exterior lights on fleet vehicles.
6. Checks and services air condensers on all vehicles; cleans an replaces air filters; replaces HVAC when necessary.
7. Operate a variety of Company vehicles to respond to test repairs and transport them for service or between facilities.
8. Provides emergency field assistance to disabled equipment as needed and appropriate; responds after hours and on weekends as assigned.
9. Maintains and services facility emergency generators and portable generators.
10. Maintains vehicle records as required; appropriately documents all service and repairs performed.
11. Adheres to DOT requirements, OSHA standards and Company policies and standard operating procedures.
12. May assist with facility maintenance and repairs.
13. Models LifeShare’s mission and values, integrating them into daily decisions, behaviors and actions.
14. Promotes cooperation and communication within a team to achieve Company and departmental goals and deliverables.
15. Meets and exceeds customer expectations and adheres to established quality practices while seeking to improve work performance.
16. Completes other related projects and duties as assigned.

CORE COMPETENCIES:

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES:

• Specialized vocational/technical training is required, plus
• At least five (5) years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, sufficient to perform the job duties
• Strong knowledge of traffic safety laws and safe driving practices
• Working knowledge of the practices, methods, materials, and tools used in modern equipment maintenance
• Ability to read and understand technical publications, including service manuals and service bulletins and is able to use information contained in them to do their own work and to assist others concerning the content
• Must be able to determine usability of all component parts and able to list and order all needed parts
• Ability to learn and utilize fleet management tracking systems (Donlen and Fleetio) Must be dependable, punctual and have effective communication skills Must be a good steward of Company tools and resources.
• Must demonstrate a positive approach toward customers, vendors and other staff members, acting in a highly professional manner at all times

PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORKING CONDITIONS / ENVIRONMENT:

• Must be able to lift equipment, boxes and supplies up to 50 lbs., unassisted
• Requires ability to reach, lift, carry, push, and pull
• Must be able to perform duties requiring lifting, standing, stooping or bending for long periods of time
• Requires operation/use of power and hand tools and equipment for vehicle and mechanical system work
• Low risk of exposure to infectious diseases from blood and blood products.
• Must be able to be on call when needed
• Requires operation of Company vehicles; must possess a valid driver’s license and be insurable by our commercial auto insurance carrier
