What will I do as a Community Life Assistant Director?

• Oversee the development of a program designed to meet the physical, intellectual, emotional, spiritual, occupational, and social needs of residents.
• Plans, publishes and posts monthly calendar of regular and special events.
• Ensure activities portion of ASP is completed.
• Demonstrates awareness of and sensitivity to the needs of residents and their families.
• Oversees Volunteer Program.
• Assists the director with the daily activities in the department.
• Supervises the Activities Assistants in accordance with the facility policies and current regulations.
• Facilitates communication within Engagement Department and other departments.
• Assists with assigning activity duties to engagement staff and volunteers.
• Assists with ordering supplies and equipment for engagement program.
• Assists with transportation for group outings, accompanies residents on trips and can drive the vans.

What is required in this position?

• Must have a high school diploma or GED certificate.
• A 4-year degree in Therapeutic Recreation or related field, or related life experience is preferred.
• Assistant Activities Director, Memory Care experience preferred.
