Job Description:
LifeMoves seeks a Staff Accountant. This role will be an important part of the Accounting organization, supporting month-end close, budgeting, billing, and financial reporting activities. This individual will work with:
  • All members of the Accounting team to ensure that our financial records are timely and accurate.
  • Various functional groups within LifeMoves, specifically with Programs Services, Grants, and Contracts. This includes analyzing and reporting of Actual spending vs. Budget analysis, monthly reporting to Functional Management, and assisting them to understand the financial impact of decisions and activities.
  • Outside agencies to support contracting and billing activities.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Position Responsibilities :
  • Execute all accounting activities in assigned areas (e.g., Cash, Accrued Liabilities, or Revenue - areas may rotate over time). Execute transactions and reconcile all relevant accounts on a monthly basis.
  • Provide financial and accounting support for assigned business units. Analyze contract terms, understand contract requirements (documentation etc.), what is billable vs. not billable, timing of invoice submission, as well as produce budgets for contracts in the assigned business units. Execute contract billings and work with external agencies to ensure timely collection of billings. Prepare annual budget for the business unit. Support monthly financial reviews with reporting and participation in reviews.
  • Execute the production and distribution of month-end reporting to all business units.
  • Support the annual audit process by providing all needed financial reports and analysis for assigned areas of accounting and business units.
  • Reconcile bank accounts for the organization.
  • Participate in projects, such as new IT implementations, as the need arises.
Position Qualifications
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Deltek experience is a plus.
  • Adaptive Insights experience a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and good follow-through.
  • Ability to work with a variety of staff.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills. Ability to effectively manage multiple deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to roll up sleeves and work with team members in a hands-on management capacity.
  • Interest in non-profit accounting.
