Lifelong Access is seeking a Community Day Services Coordinator tocarry out the coordination of the regulatory requirements, staffing, and program functions related to the community day services (Developmental Training) Program. Position requires certification as a Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP). Job Type: Full-time
Primary responsibilities include:
  • Supervise employees as assigned. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance, coaching, and developing employees, addressing concerns, and resolving problems.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and maintain systems that establish a positive working environment that encourages employees to be creative, productive, collaborative, and genuinely interested in supporting the agency mission.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to staff regarding quality of life for supported individuals.
  • Support the day-to-day operations including organization and implementation of direct supports, health care, advocacy, stakeholder relations, regulatory compliance, recruiting, safety, budget management, and maintenance of the physical environment. 
  • Manage the operation of program planning; including monitor delivery of services and support; ensure services are consistent, engaging, and relevant to the individuals served. 
  • Must be available in Community Day Services on-call rotation to support staff, find coverage or cover shifts as needed. 
  • Participate in assigned case management requirements for discovery process for success of the agency, team, staff, and individuals supported. 
  • Participate in agency-wide functions to support entire organization, including inter-agency committees as assigned. 
  • Support database management systems including entry of plans into the system. Notify staff and train them on any changes to an individual’s plans. 
  • Ability to provide CPR/first aid if necessary. 
Qualifications for this position include:
  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, sociology, education, counseling, or a related field.
  • Minimum of one years’ experience supporting individuals with disabilities required. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a community partner’s structure; and ability to work constructively with individuals receiving services, other providers of service, and the community.
  • Certified as Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP), or eligible and able to complete certifications.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Engaging hands-on leadership with effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Critical thinker, detailed, problem solver with high ethical standards.
  • Availability based on the needs of people supported, which could include days, evenings and/or weekends if necessary, depending on staffing.
  • Valid Illinois driver’s license with safe driving record. 
  • Current proof of automobile insurance.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee will also frequently need to converse with adults – some who might be difficult to understand or use nonverbal forms of communications. The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, and walk for periods of time. Also frequently required to use hands< fingers to reach and feel. Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include clear close and distance vision.
